STUDIO UPDATE: Spring!

I'm loving this time of the year here in Australia, spring has sprung! The garden has come alive, so many plants are flowering.  It's got me all inspired. I'm so fascinated at the way things grow at the moment and watching nature transform daily really intrigues me.

I want to do a larger still life with a few different flowers in a vase. Above is a practice piece to get the hang of painting a rose.  I'm enjoying this colour combination, that yellow really pops!

In other news, this week over on my Facebook page, the 1,500 likes mark was reached, which means it's GIVEAWAY time! I'm gifting the above painting to an active Facebook fan. All you have to do for a chance to win the painting is like, comment or interact in any way with the page over the next two weeks. If you do, I'll put your name in a hat (or such) and draw the prize on Friday 27th September.

Visit the page here: www.facebook.com/tracey.potter.artist

Also, I  dropped these four paintings (above and below) into a handmade boutique yesterday. The store is called Handmade Highstreet, they have all sorts of beautiful wares.

Last but not least, Here are the past two Flashback Fridays!

Happy Paint Party Friday and wishing you all a productive and creative week.  x

STUDIO UPDATE: Fantastic week! Garden Painting Finished!

A great start to the week and a fantastic end!  Beautiful nasturtiums have been on my desk all week, cheering up the space. I brought them in from the garden (complete with caterpillar holes) and they been putting a smile on my face.

I gave myself a deadline of Wednesday evening on the large garden painting
(otherwise I just would not get it done).
I'm happy to say, I signed off on it mid week!

Above is a photo of it in the back garden. I Just loved the sun shinning in the photo.

I also had a play around with the frame on this 'Wynnum Boats' painting, adding off white chalk paint to the outer frame.  The verdict is still out on whether or not to shabby chic it up a bit with some sanding. I'm going to sit on it some more before making a final decision.

The beautiful Rosie and her bird, for Flashback Friday.
This is a painting I did a little while ago. She is a treasure.

Happy Paint Party Friday and wishing you all a productive and creative week.  x

STUDIO UPDATE: Catching up.

I've missed the last two PPF's, and I'm determined not to miss another, so though I'm posting late again, I'm posting none the less. Happy Friday and Happy Weekend all!

The garden painting is getting very close to being finished!

Just a few more details to go.

Pretty flowers in the studio are keeping me motivated and putting a smile on my face.

Geraniums

Nasturtium

An amazing orange colour!  Makes me smile.
These nasturtiums are going wild in the garden at the moment.

Another thing that puts a smile on my face is when my paintings leave the nest and go off to homes where I know they will be appreciated.  Two of my paintings did just that recently.

'Mrs Egg Cup' has SOLD, she's with a lovely lady and joins another one of my paintings.

Last but not least, time to catch you all up on the Flashback Friday Series:

Happy Paint Party Friday and wishing you all a productive and happy week.  x
